Growing up, ranch dressing was one of my absolute-favorite foods. My grandma lived with us and she had "homemade" ranch dressing in the fridge at all times, so naturally I became pretty addicted to it. The funny part is that my moms mom wasn't the stereotypical happy-grandma-homemaker. She had a full time job, ushered at the theater and was part of at least two bridge groups. So, her idea of "homemade" was stirring together a packet of dehydrated spice mix with mayonnaise and buttermilk. Homemade, maybe, but wholesome, definitely not.
